We can’t write this blog post, you guys. We have no words. We can’t write it because no matter how hard we try, we can’t adequately describe this incredible, beautiful wedding day, and our own words could never live up to the words spoken by Anna and Pierce themselves and their friends and families. Our words are simply not eloquent enough.
We have really gotten to know this incredible couple and their incomparable joy. We’ve watched them laugh loudly and cry happy tears, and we’ve had the honor to be there to hug them on the most important day of their lives. We knew that their ceremony was going to be something special because of all the love that we know these two had in their hearts for each other. When Anna started reciting the vows that she had written for her husband, through misty eyes, we knew we had to listen closely, because we knew these words were special. Here are some of Anna’s beautiful words:
“I remember when I heard your name for the first time, and I remember thinking “that’s an amazing name,” and for some reason, I couldn’t get your name our of my head. I didn’t even know anything about you yet, but I knew that there was something about you that would change my life forever. When we started dating, I looked up the meaning of your name, and I was blown away by how accurate the meaning of your name was to our relationship. The name ‘Pierce’ means ‘solid rock,’ and that is exactly what you have been for me since the day we started pursuing each other. I am overcome with gratitude that when God created me, He already had you in mind, and I knew the first time you wrapped your arms around me what home felt like.”
Crying yet? The previous night, at their rehearsal dinner, Anna’s father put it simply and beautifully, “I won’t try to outdo the poets of time. All I will sat is this: whatever love is, these two have a boat load of it.” Amen, Mr. Payne. Amen.
Anna and Piece – we love you, and we hope you know that. We hope you know what an amazing gift you have and what a gift your marriage can be to others. We are so proud to know you.
