Sunny Downtown Birmingham Engagement Session Amanda & Christopher

Amanda & Christopher did not get engaged during Amanda’s birthday trip to the beach, although she really thought that she would. Amanda told us the story of their proposal, but she started with how she noticed that Christopher was being pretty jumpy any time she got near his phone. It was obvious to her that he absolutely did not want Amanda to look on his phone, and that made Amanda SO curious what was on it. She told us about how she finally got the nerve to take a peek on his camera roll when he wasn’t in the room… and there it was! A photo of a big, beautiful engagement ring! She says that she threw the phone across the room immediately and described so many emotions – joy, excitement, guilt, shame. And she just HAD to tell someone.

So, she called her mom and explained that she found a photo of an engagement ring on Christopher’s phone. Her mother was so excited and told her that, oh yeah, that proposal was going to happen at the beach! She was sure of it! During the trip, Amanda proceeded to watch Christopher’s every move and she was convinved that every walk or every brunch date at the beach was IT. Christopher even took a 45-minute drive down a back road at the beach, “just to see what was down there.” Amanda just knew that he had a big elaborate setup at the end of this middle-of-nowhere road and that this was the time she had been waiting for. He didn’t, and it wasn’t.

So, when they arrived home, Amanda was disspointed. She was trying not to show it, but she was so ready to be his wife. Soon after, she goes to her famiy birthday dinner that was supposed to be just Amanda, Christopher and Amanda’s family. But, all of their friends and family were there, and that’s when Amanda turned around and saw Christopher on his knee, proposing marriage! Everyone knew that it wasn’t happening at the beach, including Amanda’s mom, and they just enjoyed watching her squirm! We love this story!

Amanda and Christopher are tying the knot at Vestavia Country Club on New Years Eve, and we’re so thrilled to be a part of such a special day!
