We absolutely loved getting to meet so many families throughout our Spring Mini Session weekends. We shared a lot of laughs, stories and… “accidents” with these children and their sweet parents, and the baby chicks definitely kept us on our toes. Mini sessions always prove to be hectic and a bit stressful, but so worth it in the end. It gives us an opportunity to be creative with props, backgrounds and posing as well as a chance for families to get some season-specific photographs quickly and at a lower cost. Check out the cuteness below.
Brittney is an old friend of Eric’s, and we loved getting to catch up and get to know her husband, Josh, and these two adorable kiddos, Harper and Kinley (also known as “KK”). Their grandparents have a farm, so baby chicks were nothing new. They were probably more comfortable with the chickies than we were! Some of the best photos from this session came from the cutest sibling rivalry we’ve ever seen – Harper and KK started wrestling in mid-shoot, but it just translated to sweet bro and sis canoodling in the photos. We’ll take it!
The first thing out of Miss Edie Lane’s mouth upon arrival at her session was “Where’s da chicks!?” She was ready. Like many children, though, when it was time to actually hold a real, live, moving bird… she wasn’t feeling it so much. She made some beautiful photographs, nevertheless – so angelic! We really enjoyed working with her and her mother, Ashley.
So, unfortunately, sweet Makenna was a little fussy, but her parents, Tommy and Mindy, had some very creative ways to keep her happy throughout the shoot. A few Gold Fish crackers in some Easter eggs certainly saved the session! And really, who looks this cute on a not-so-great day? Those EYES!
Sweet Charlotte is a mere THREE MONTHS OLD! She was such a well-behaved and photogenic baby – well beyond her months! She couldn’t sit up by herself yet, but she didn’t let that stop her. Jaime, Charlotte’s mom, wanted a few pictures with her also. It was also a joy to see this new momma’s love for her little one.
We love when personality shines through and is able to be captured through the photo, and this was definitely the case for Ellen and Exie. These sisters were full of personality and energy, which keeps our job interesting and fun. This family was such a pleasure!
Allie and Emma are four-year-old twins and their little cousin, Sullivan, is just 18 months. These young ladies had a blast with the chicks and our camera fell in love with all three of them instantly!
Be on the lookout for our next round of mini sessions. We can’t promise when they will be since it all depends on scheduling, but let us know if you have any special requests or would like to schedule a not-so-mini session with us!
