We always love taking photos of sweet friends. Jamie has known Ms. Robbin Franklin since her time as Miss Leeds Area 2010 (the glory days) and has remained friends with her through the Miss Alabama Organization through the years. She has always been so kind and encouraging to all the young women involved in the organization and has been one of Jamie’s favorite people she has met through the system. Her husband, Robby, is just as nice as she is, and we absolutely loved working with these two. Aside from the fact that the Robbin and Robby are just awesome folks, this shoot had an extremely sentimental meaning.
This was a special occasion because it was Robbin and Robby’s 30th wedding anniversary. That’s certainly a milestone worth celebrating, and even after 30 years, this couple was still very much in love! This shoot was not only to recognize the occasion, though, but also to replenish their photo album that was lost in the infamous April 27, 2011 tornadoes that tore through parts of central Alabama.
During the storm, the Franklin family lost their belongings, precious wedding photos and their entire home. They had to completely rebuild and start from scratch, and they built a gorgeous home straight out of Southern Living Magazine full of their personality and personal touches. That is why their beautiful home served as the location for our session – it was symbolic of this couple’s resiliency and love for one another. We also snapped some photos of the couple in a big blue chair – a piece of furniture that survived the storm and now had a very special place in their new home.
We adored spending time with Robbin and Robby, and are so honored to have had the opportunity to help them make new memories in their new home. What was lost can never be replaced, but with a bond that lasts through thick and thin can give the strength to weather the storm!
