Amanda & Clay

Amanda and Jamie go way back – all the way to Jefferson County’s Junior Miss 2007. It was the first “pageant” Jamie had ever done (a scholarship program!), and she was the only girl representing her area. It seemed like the other girls all knew each other, so Jamie was happy when a sweet and equally as lonely girl named Amanda wanted to be friends! Neither of them made the Top 10, so they sat backstage together in the “loser” room on final night and watched the finalists compete, although Amanda ended up winning Overall Scholastics, which was no surprise with this smarty pants. Jamie and Amanda both went on to compete in the Miss Alabama Program and have been good friends ever since! Amanda is a beautiful, intelligent and awesome girl and we think the world of her!

Amanda and Clay have been together for what seems like forever, so this engagement was a long time coming. These two share the cutest country slang and an awesome relationship. They have a deep friendship that’s so apparent, and they just fit together like they were made for each other. Jamie has been hearing “Clay stories” for years, so it’s so awesome to watch as all of the history culminate into the milestone of their wedding day! Plus, look at them. Won’t they make some beautiful babies!??

Here’s an engagement session fun fact: That pretty blue dress that Amanda is wearing in the first half of her session is actually the dress she thought she was going to get engaged in! According to Amanda, she thought she had Clay all figured out, and she wore that dress because she knew she’d take a lot of pictures the night she got engaged. Clay fooled her, though, when he proposed while Amanda was sporting workout clothes (beautifully, we might add!). So, because she had to get some use out of this dress somehow, she decided to wear it to her engagement shoot. It looked great and went perfectly with the blooming cherry tress!

We are looking forward to Amanda and Clay’s wedding in June and are honored to be a part of it. It’s always special to us when friends ask us to capture their wedding day, and we can’t wait!
