Happy Friday, friends! We are so excited to finally share today’s post with you, because it’s featured on one of our favorite blogs for all-things-groom (the grooms need some wedding inspiration, too, y’all!), The Well Groomed Groom. Go show this amazing site some love, and make sure to follow @wellgroomedgroom on Instagram and like The Well Groomed Groom on Facebook! There’s also a Well Groomed Groom Pinterest account, so get to pinning!
We teamed up with some of our good friends and amazingly talented local up-and-coming vendors to put together this classic, yet chic downtown elopement inspiration shoot back in February of this year, and guys…let us tell you…shooting in 20º temperatures for about four hours was no easy task, and it was even harder on our amazing models Chandler and Chris – but they braved the cold like champs! We would shoot for about 30 minutes, then run and jump in our cars that we kept running with the heat cranked all the way up just to get some temporary relief. It was definitely a sight to see! Thankfully, out of all that bitter cold came something we’re so proud of. No pain, no gain, right?!
You can probably see why we’re so excited about this post – we’ve been sitting on it for months! Our goal was to showcase how something simple like a city hall elopement can still be bold and breathtaking. We strived to fuse an elegant black-tie wedding day with modern, trendy elements to capture grandeur and intimacy. It was important for us to pay homage to the flair of historic downtown Birmingham, Alabama while sparking inspiration for any classic bride looking to make a simple elopement into something truly special. We couldn’t have pulled this off without our amazingly talented crew of local vendors Kami Watts from Wildflower Hair, Shea Doriety from About Face, Alex Joganic of Joganic Creative, Mr. Burch Formal Wear, Bella’s Bridal and Formal Wear, Agnew Jewelers and floral designer extraordinaire Savannah of Bushel & Peck.
Have a great weekend!
