Julie & Connor

Julie and Connor are a one-of-a-kind couple, let us tell you. They are so special to us, and are so perfectly sarcastic that they keep us laughing until our cheeks hurt. These two tell it like it is and are up for anything. We love their spontaneity and how they pick on each other. And we really love Julie’s cat memes that she sends via text message every once in a while! We’re so glad that these two are our friends, even though we left them stranded in a field of hay during the engagement shoot that will live in infamy. We still cringe a little and blush from embarrassment just thinking about it! Read all about that here.

Their wedding was on the first reeeeally hot day of the year. You guys know how that first hot day of the summer is. It slaps you in the face like you’ve never felt hot weather before. You forget what hot Alabama humidity feels like until you’re sweating in strange places, scratching at mosquito bites and wishing you had a gallon of ice water. We were dressed and prepared for the hot weather, though, unlike Julie and Connor in their wedding gear, (looking “hot” in the other sense of the word, we might add!) They were such good sports about the weather, and they braved the heat as we got these beautiful pictures of these beautiful people!

It was an amazing day, and we were so impressed by Julie’s attention to detail. Her personal touches were everywhere. Baby pictures lining the aisle at the ceremony, an adorable “kids table” with coloring books and crayons, signage with quotes from one of Julie’s favorite movies (“Mawwiage is What Bwings us Togethaw Today!” – Name that movie!?) She really thought of everything! The wedding was carnival themed and it was put together in the most tasteful, creative way possible. And the FOOD! From peanuts, cotton candy and popcorn to funnel cake and corn dogs, the food stuck with the theme and was delicious! You could tell the wedding guests really loved Julie and Connor’s celebration, too. We’re pretty sure every attendee found their way to the dance floor at some point in the evening, and they were there to have a good time. That doesn’t surprise us, though, if they are friends or family of Julie and Connor!

The weather was so hot that their boutonnieres, which were put together with the help of hot glue, melted. They began falling off right and left during the wedding party photos, but lucky for us, Shalon of Whirl Events and the Applewood Farms staff were there to fix them right up. Those boutonnieres weren’t the only thing that were dropping like flies, unfortunately. Jamie hit the ground after twisting her ankle. It resulted in a couple of tears and a lot of “I’m ok!! Don’t look at me! Look at Eric’s camera! Oh my gosh, I think swelling – but don’t look at me!!” We think the fall embarrassed (there seems to be a theme here!) and scared her more than anything, and after a little bit of ice, she was good to go!

We couldn’t have loved our experience with Julie and Connor more. They are so much fun and so perfect for each other. They joke, laugh and pick on each other, but the moment Julie walked down that aisle, you could see in Connor’s eyes that he loved his bride in a serious but oh-so-joyful way. It was absolutely beautiful, and we’re honored to have witnessed it firsthand. We wish you guys all of the happiness in the world!
