Caitlin and Jonathan have such an awesome love story. They met at church when Jonathan was 16 years old and Caitlin was just 14. They both admittedly knew that they were going to marry each other one day, but because of their young age, they say that they had a lot of petty “young love” arguments. They attended homecomings and proms together throughout their high school years, but when college came for Caitlin and she went off to Auburn, they broke up due to the distance. That was until, in the couple’s words, they sat down and finally decided to get serious with each other – they decided to “grow up.” Soon after that, they got engaged, they recently tied the knot, and the rest is history!
That story in a nut shell isn’t stereotypically romantic. It’s pretty straight forward. It doesn’t involve a passion-filled canoe ride in a rainstorm (The Notebook, anyone?) or a scenario like when Richard Gear raced up the fire escape to confess his love to Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, but it’s just as amazing. Two people loved each other, decided to abandon childish ways and chose to commit to each other forever. Y’all, that’s romantic. That’s something really special. Two people who know each other inside and out and watched each other grow up vowed to make the constant effort to love and honor each other for the rest of their lives. GAH. Who needs canoes or fire escapes!??
