You may remember Krystin & Phillip from their library engagement session we shared on the blog a few months ago. If you haven’t seen it, we think you should start there. At the UAB library, where they met, got to know each other, and had their first kiss. Then, picture the dates, the friendship, the ups and downs, the blending of families, and the amazing commitment that culminated into the most beautiful wedding day. We were so honored to celebrate their love with them. Let us tell you all about it…
Krystin & Phillip’s New Year’s Eve wedding day began at the Westin Hotel in Birmingham’s Uptown district. They got ready with their closest friends and family, and then met each other in the lobby of the hotel. They chose to forego a first look in lieu of tradition, but made it a point to come together on either side of a door way for a private prayer. This was such a beautiful moment between the soon-to-be husband and wife. Phillip offered aloud the most beautiful prayer, and Krystin cried as she listened to her love’s heartfelt words. It was a moment we won’t forget, and we’re sure they won’t either.
Their wedding itself was small and intimate with about 70 guests attending in all. The ceremony was simple, but oh so meaningful, and Avondale Brewery’s event space served as the perfect backdrop for the mid-morning celebration. Phillip beamed as he watched his bride walk down the aisle to him, the officiant gave a beautiful sermon and the couple shared communion in the presense of their closest family and friends. After the ceremony, guests watched as Krystin & Phillip shared their first dance, and then they all went to an early lunch together at a nearby restaurant where the happy couple was able to hug, talk and spend time with each of their guests. That’s exactly how Krystin & Phillip wanted their day to be – personal. And it was. It was perfect for them and such a joy to be a part of.
Krystin & Phillip – thank you! Thank you for allowing us to share laughter and tears with you! Your love truly is inspiring, and you are going to such phenomenal things together. We just know it. The world needs more Krystins & Phillips. We really love you guys, and we wish you all of the happiness in the whole world! CONGRATULATIONS, friends!
