After the 10-hour adrenaline rush of the average wedding day, our bodies are usually done. Our feet are throbbing, and we’re physically exhausted. But, more often than not, we can’t shut our brains off. We can’t help but talk about the day and the couple we spent it with until one of us finally falls asleep, and we stayed up extra late talking about Stephanie and Phillip. They’re something really special, you guys. We left their wedding in awe of what an amazing spouse, family member and friend these two are for each other and those that love them. They are the kind of people we love to be around and we’re so glad to call our friends.
We talked in their engagement session blog about how they live life easy, and their wedding day proved that all the more true. Stephanie lost her shoe walking down the aisle. In true Stephanie fashion, she kicked the other one off and kept walking to her groom. We didn’t even notice that it happened until we saw her shoes sitting at the end of the aisle! Before that, Phillip’s boutonnière suffered some damage and had to be fixed right before the ceremony. There are a lot of people who would let those kinds of little mishaps bother them. Stephanie and Phillip, though? No way. Because they were marrying each other at the end of the day, and that is absolutely all that mattered. Little things don’t bother these two. They know what’s important in life, and they have such a way of making everyone around them feel just as at ease. They are seriously awesome.
This wedding will also go down in Eric & Jamie history as the first and only 22-member bridal party portrait session that was ahead of schedule! We’re not surprised that Stephanie and Phillip have 18 best friends (who wouldn’t want to be in their bridal party!?), but we were so surprised at how equally as easy-going and awesome their friends were. Usually, groomsmen #8 is nowhere to be found, bridesmaid #7 is redoing her hair, and flower girl #2 is napping somewhere. Nope, not these guys! We can’t emphasize this enough. This wedding was so much fun, and such a joy to be a part of from start to finish.
Stephanie and Phillip – you guys are amazing. Plain and simple. We don’t think you realize how much we will treasure our time with you. We know you guys will have a long, happy, beautiful marriage that will not only be an enormous blessing for you two, but to the people you will impact together. We consider ourselves lucky to know you both, and we are so honored to have been a part of the first day of your forever. Thank you for all the laughs. We love you guys!
