Megan and Brent would win the “Two Peas in a Pod” superlative in life’s high-school year book, no doubt about it. They are the most adorable couple, and when they are together, they both are beaming. They fit together so perfectly, and they really seem like they were made for each other. These two cuties met at Publix. You heard me – the supermarket! Megan was grocery shopping with her mom and Brent was working there, they locked eyes, and the rest is history. They’ve been together for years, and they’ve withstood a verrrry long distance relationship. We’re not just talking an University of Alabama and Auburn University long distance relationship like we see pretty often. There was a little more distance to this one. Megan was here in school at Montevallo while Brent was in the military, stationed in Hawaii! They battled the distance with FaceTime, and we thought it was so adorable when Megan told us that they pretty much FaceTime the entire time they are able to, and they even arrange to be watching the same movie or television show at the same time so that they can watch it together. Ridiculously adorable.
Because of the distance, we weren’t able to do an engagement session with Megan and Brent. Our brides and grooms know how much we love engagement sessions. We love the opportunity to hang out with our sweet couples, get to know them and get them comfortable with us and in front of the camera. It helps the portraits on the wedding day to be more comfortable and natural, and it helps our couples be able to jump straight into amazing wedding day portraits rather than having to “warm up.” However, because Brent is stationed in Hawaii, we didn’t have the opportunity to meet him in person before the wedding. We were able to FaceTime with him, but it wasn’t quite the same. We weren’t doubting Megan’s model skills (just you wait until you see her bridal photos – HOLY MOLY!!), but we were afraid that Brent just wouldn’t feel as comfortable with us because he hadn’t spent time with us. Thankfully, we couldn’t have been more wrong! We hit it off right off the bat with Brent. He is an awesome guy with an amazing attitude, and when he gets around Megan, there’s that permanent smile on his face. They were so effortless together, and we should have never doubted him!
Megan and Brent’s gorgeous spring wedding at Aldridge Gardens was nothing short of magical. We loved witnessing the tears and the laughter, getting to know the two amazing families and watching as Megan and Brent’s friends showered them with so much love. We’re so thankful to know these two, and we wish them all of the happiness in the world as they begin their new life in Hawaii! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hopson!
