Stephanie and Matt are a beautiful, crazy-in-love, family oriented couple, and those personal qualities spilled right over into their wedding day. You’ll see what we mean by beautiful – it was a gorgeous day! Their love shined throughout the entire day and especially during their tear-jerking first look. We needed tissues after that one. They also took such good care of their family and friends, from getting cupcakes with candles to celebrate a bridesmaid’s birthday to a special presentation of the bouquet to Stephanie’s soon-to-be sister in law, to a bucket of flip flops for guests’ aching feet (so they could party! And a party it was!!), Stephanie and Matt did such an excellent job of ensuring that their special day would also be special to the ones they love the most.
We love that when we first met with Stephanie and Matt, they both warned us that they may not be great in front of the camera. We think the word they used was “awkward.” That seriously makes us laugh because now that we’ve shot their wedding, we know it’s absolutely absurd! You’ll see below why “awkward” is so not the case, and if anything, they should get in front of the camera more often because they are great at it. They are such a beautiful and photogenic couple! You can see their love and joy in their portraits, and man, we’re so glad we got to witness it first hand.
Can we talk about those details, please? Stephanie designed much of her wedding stationary herself, and we think she did a phenomenal job! All of her wedding day details were just stunning! We also had so much fun photographing the creative genius of HotHouse Design Studio! The Magic City sign was the perfect addition to the already beautiful rooftop of downtown Birmingham’s Kress Building, and the black and white elements with pops of lime green florals made the evening feel like the perfect mixture of classy and a little bit of funky. That fits Stephanie and Matt’s personalities perfectly, if you ask us. They are both super classy and sophisticated with a hilarious, dry, witty sense of humor. Their wedding reflected Stephanie and Matt beautifully.
Stephanie and Matt, we had an absolute blast getting to know your family and friends on your special day. They really know how to party! But even more so, we’re so glad that we were able to get to know you. You two are truly something special. You take care of each other and you laugh together, and we know that you will have so many years of ups, downs, and beautiful marriage together.
