We’re so excited to share this wedding with you all today! Not just because of the awesome couple and beautiful design and flawless execution, but also because we got to photograph where we got married! It’s always a pleasure to come back to the place where we stood before our family and friends and began our life together, and when we found out that Heather and Aaron were also saying, “I do” at The Tuwiler Hotel in downtown Birmingham, we did a happy dance.
You can’t look at these photos without noticing a couple of things. First, you’ll notice Heather and Aaron’s deep, genuine love and joy. It’s contagious. They are so happy to finally be married, and they are absolutely crazy about each other! You’ll notice the stunning color scheme – more about that later. And there’s NO WAY that you can miss the adorable pup, Biggie Smalls, who hung out with the bridal party, made her way into many portraits, and yes – even walked down the aisle wearing a bedazzled pup-xedo!!! We tell no lies. Scroll down to see… but keep reading.
The day was nothing short of beautiful. From the springtime florals with bold pops of color from CeCe Designs, to the gorgeous champagne paper suite, to the flawless execution by Becky’s Brides, there was a whole lot of pretty going on! We were in love with the color palette – just look at those vivid bridesmaid dresses! Mix it all in with Heather’s ivory gown impeccably altered by Hollow to Hem, and you’ve got the perfect juxtaposition of soft and bold. The ceremony was held on the veranda outside the Tutwiler, and the story was told of how Heather and Aaron met at work and fell in love inside the Beltway (we think their love story is pretty cool). As we looked around, we couldn’t help but take into account how far many of their guests had traveled to see them become man and wife. These two are so loved.
Upon arriving at Iron City for the reception, all of the out of town guests made their mark on Birmingham by tearing up the dance floor as PapaSol brought down the house. After all of the traditional dances, Heather surprised her mom by having a mother-daughter dance to Extreme’s “More Than Words,” which Heather told us was “their song” ever since she was a little girl. Completely shocked. Heather’s mom couldn’t help but cry, and we’re pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. The party kept going with both the bride and the groom joining the band on stage to dance and with these INCREDIBLE oversized cardboard cut outs of Heather, Aaron, and Biggie Small’s faces (you’ll see what we mean in the photos – SO funny!!)!
Heather and Aaron, we love you guys so much!! We wish you guys were in Birmingham so we could see you more, hear your jokes and just be around your infectious joy! Words can’t express how honored we were to witness the beginning of an incredible marriage like yours. You’re the kind of couple who makes us love our job. You two are amazing, and we’re so proud to consider you friends. Congrats, Lorenzos!!
