Alabama boy meets New York girl at a holiday party in New York City. Boy proposes in Central Park. Boy and girl move across country to San Fransisco to begin new jobs. Boy and girl get married in Alabama surrounded by friends and family from all over the country and world. Sounds like a movie, right? We think so, too. That’s why it’s so easy to fall in love with Jun & Bert’s love story. It’s taken them pretty much everywhere.
When you have a wedding in Alabama where many guests are driving or flying from other states, it’s almost like there’s more pressure to deliver the good ole southern hospitality that’s associated with this region of the country. With the help of Becky’s Brides and a phenomenal vendor team, Jun & Bert did exactly that. The atmosphere was inviting, the food was to die for, the aesthetics were top-notch, and the party was hoppin’. As we mentioned in their engagement session blog, Jun & Bert are the real deal. We began our day hanging out with the wedding party at Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa where the girls were sipping on mimosas and the guys were, well, coming up with their own concoction of champagne and Mt. Dew, AKA the “Dewmosa.” The consensus on the Dewmosa: Not good by any means, but surprisingly not terrible. We’ll take their word for it! After portraits, we loaded up and drove a few miles down the road to the quintessentially southern Barn at Shady Lane, where Jun & Bert had the sweetest ceremony officiated by Bert’s sister. Seriously, how cool is it that the groom’s sister pronounced them husband and wife?!
The party kicked up a notch inside the barn where Shindigs Catering knocked it out of the park with an amazing food selection, and HotHouse Design Studio designed the most beautiful reception for guests to celebrate. One of our favorite memories about the reception is when Bert tore up the dance floor all while eating an ice cream sandwich from Big Spoon Creamery. Heartfelt toasts were given by both Jun & Bert’s fathers, and the couple was sent off in style with sparklers for an end to an amazing, amazing day!
Jun & Bert, we love you guys so much. You put a smile on anyone’s face that’s around you, including us. Your day was perfect and beautiful, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of it. You guys will do great things together, and we can’t wait to follow along and cheer you on every step of the way!
