Claire and Brandon’s wedding day had a lot of moving parts. The University of Alabama has it’s annual “A Day game,” where the Crimson Tide faces off against itself in a scrimmage game. It’s a big deal in Tuscaloosa. Thousands upon thousands of people show up to get their football fix in the springtime. When Claire and Brandon picked their wedding date, they prayed a giant prayer: “Please, God, don’t let the A Day game get scheduled for our wedding date!” Well, God decided to show his sense of humor and A Day was indeed scheduled for their day. Calvary Baptist Church was the stunning location for their ceremony, which happened to be just a block away from the 101,000 seat Bryan Denney Stadium. That meant TRAFFIC. And road closures all around the stadium and church. The plot thickens, y’all. Grab the popcorn, there’s more. On top of the A Day craziness, the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championship was ALSO being held that day in Tuscaloosa, where one of the busiest highways in T-Town was completely blocked for miles so cyclists could have free reign of the roads. THE PLOT THICKENS AGAIN! There was also a 40-60% chance of rain during the time frame all outdoor photos were to be made. That’s the plot twist. Whew.
You know what, though? Even with all of those challenges and hurdles, Claire & Brandon faced them head on. Nothing was going to ruin their wedding day. Their excitement about becoming man and wife trumped any rain cloud hovering over their day, figuratively and literally. We think their attitude had a lot to do with rest of the day unfolded. Because, guess what. No one ran late because of the madness of road closures and football, and we finished all outdoor photos without a single drop of rain falling from the sky. How amazing is that?! It was like the sea of traffic parted letting everyone get to their destination on time, the clouds parted letting beautiful sun shine down, and God smiled on this wedding! Along with the best wedding party, supportive families, wonderfully amazing vendors, and their closest friends, Claire & Brandon had the perfect day. One of the sweetest things about this whole experience is that not only is Calvary Baptist the church where Claire’s parents got married, but the minister who officiated the wedding was actually married by Claire’s dad! How cool is that!?
The reception was a ball! The dance floor was crowded the whole night, and we don’t think many guests ever sat down! Steve, the bride’s father, got on the mic for a couple of songs and brought the house down! Brandon, the self-proclaimed guy who “doesn’t dance” tore the dance floor up with his new bride and celebrated their marriage with so much joy! It was SO much fun.
Claire and Brandon – we just love you guys! You two make an incredible team, and we are so glad that we got to be a part of such an amazing union!! You two are truly something special. Cheers to the Harts!!
