You know when you visit a city, and the moment you start walking the sidewalks, you can’t help but feel like you’ve been transported to your perfect getaway from the norm? You know that city will never get old, and you’ll want to keep coming back for years to come. And, you know those people whom you might be separated from by multiple cities or states, yet when you see them after a long period of time, you immediately get thrown back to the last time you saw them, and pick up exactly where you left off? It’s effortless and easy. For us, that city is New Orleans and those people are Cassie and Seth.
We walked into Cassie’s hotel room as she was having the finishing touches put on her hair, and the second we made eye contact with her, tears began streaming down her face as she said, “Oh, my gosh, this is really happening now!” We can guess the exact emotions and thoughts that were running through her head at that moment. The first and last time we spent time with Cassie and Seth was last November. We met them in the French Quarter for their engagement session (they were ahh-mazing! See it here.), and we got to know them even more afterward when the four of us went to a local pub for food, drinks and laughs. The memories Cassie was having of her and Seth embracing, walking, and giggling together during their time with us came rushing back to her. It was really happening. Cassie was finally getting to say “I do!” to her dream man, 11 months later.
The wedding day was absolutely impecable, from the blushing bride in her elegant lace gown and her bearded, bow-tied groom to the classic royal purple details and bold, vibrant florals. Cassie and Seth had a Greek Orthodox ceremony at the beautiful Holy Trinity Cathedral and carried the reception over to the gorgeous New Orleans Board of Trade where they celebrated their new life together with A LOT of dancing (these photos speak for themselves!). Just when we thought the party couldn’t get any better, they ended the night on a high note (literally) with a half-mile second line through the streets of the French Quarter. We might sound like complete out-of-towners, but the classic Cajun saying, “Let the good times roll!” was definitely lived out in Cassie and Seth’s wedding day, and we are certain it will be a commonly-said phrase in the Patterson household!
Cassie and Seth, your attitude toward each other and toward your marriage set the tone for your entire day, and we were so honored to be a part of it. It was pure joy. People gravitate toward you because of your kindness, your genuine care for other people and your sweet love for one another. We just love you guys, and we will see you soon!
