We are pretty sure that this blog post would be a mile long if we typed out all the ways that Nick and Gia’s wedding day was so special and incredibly meaningful. There were so many little details, so much love, and so many people who traveled thousands of miles to be present to witness these two marry. We’ll try our very best to hit the high points, but we really don’t believe words could adequately describe this beautiful day. We just consider ourselves very lucky that we were able to witness the sentimental ceremony and the joyous reception first hand.
Gia is from Venezuela, so many members of her family were in the U.S. just for the big day. Many didn’t speak English, so the entire ceremony was in English AND Spanish to cater to both sides of the family and both groups of friends. The language barrier was far from a burden or a hindrance on the day. It was inspiring. Something about the meshing of cultures and the joining of such different families was so incredibly touching to watch. To hear the couple’s favorite bible verses read in English and then again Spanish and to hear hymns sang in both tongues was simply amazing!
Salsa dancing played a large role in the reception, and these two photographers weren’t complaining! That’s how Nick and Gia met – salsa dancing at a wedding. Seeing them come full circle and hit the dance floor at their own wedding was a really cool moment, and we’re not sure, but we think that this wedding reception may be served as a “love connection” for some other couples. Who knows! We may be shooting another wedding in a couple of years who will start their story with “we met salsa dancing at a wedding!!” In addition to the lively dancing and party atmosphere, we were blown away by the heartfelt toasts. Gia’s matron of honor and godmother delivered the sweetest toast we’ve ever heard. She had a translator to help us understand, but even if that translator wasn’t there, we’re sure we would still have to wipe our eyes a little bit. Even if we couldn’t understand her words, the love between her and Gia was so evident. And then, a family member from Nick’s side delivered a toast listing the Top 10 Reasons Why Gia Loves Nick which was accompanied with a slide show of embarrassing childhood photos of Nick, lots of jokes, but even more love! It was a GOOD one, y’all!
Nick and Gia – you are so incredibly loved. By your friends, your family, and your photographers! We’ve so enjoyed getting to know you guys and you’ve found a special place in our hearts with your loud laughter and beautiful, joyous smiles! We know you will have such an amazing impact on this world as a married couple, and we can’t wait to see what life brings you two next!!
