“I’m never going back to school again. Never. Not gonna happen.” Those words have left our mouths many times since Jamie completed her Master’s degree and Eric obtained a second Bachelor’s degree last year. The thought of attending classes, taking notes, studying for days on end and taking exams again (Eric has the unfortunate superpower to forget everything he learned the minute an exam is handed to him) in between work and photo shoots makes our palms sweat and sends us into a mini panic attack; but not this time. This time, we are throwing our imaginary backpacks on with the excitement comparable to THIS KID and the school is the International Academy of Wedding Photographers, and the teachers are some of our favorite photographers, like ever.
The Academy was created to empower and propel wedding photographers to the next level through professional training from some of the most respected wedding photographers in the business: Matt and Carissa Kennedy, Amy and Jordan Demos (whose workshop we attended this past February and you can read all about here!), Montana Dennis, Chris Mortensen, Katelyn James, and Justin and Mary Marantz. The Academy is also accredited through PCTIA and is a part of the Wedding Industry Professionals Association to ensure that we get the best education.
This group of instructors is bringing the heat to help us grow to not only be better photographers, but better stewards to our brides and grooms. And that, friends, is what we are all about. We want to serve our couples form the first inquiry email to the delivery of your wedding images and beyond. What better way to do that than to continually improve as photographers, as business owners, and as people? We can’t think of any.
We are so looking forward to putting our heart into this program and applying the concepts we learn into our business and life.
