It has finally reached 70 degrees in Birmingham, Alabama. The weather has been beautiful, and spring has finally arrived. Except, the day we had scheduled for an engagement shoot with Hallie and James, it was 34 degrees, and of course, Hallie was in an adorable black peplum sleeveless dress. Not the perfect attire for nearly freezing temperatures, but beauty is pain, right? We were so impressed firstly with how put together these two were, and secondly, how they somehow remained happy and in love in the unexpected cold. It was adorable to watch James keep Hallie warm in between shots and how they naturally fit together. They were effortless.
On top of the excellent fashion sense and the overall cuteness of this couple, they are also pretty brilliant. James studies mechanical engineering at Alabama and Hallie is majoring in microbiology at Auburn. Beauty AND brains! Coming from the musician and marketer turned photographers, props to all you left-brainers out there! 😉
To put the icing on the cake, this shoot was celebrating more than just their engagement – it was their SIX year anniversary. These two high school sweethearts have overcome the inconvenient and sometimes challenging aspects of long distance dating and are looking forward to finally tying the knot. We can definitely relate to that (we were together for seven years before we got married, and were long distance for four of those seven!), and we couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations, Hallie and James!
