Jamie grew up in the world of Miss Alabama, and by default, Eric did too. It has played a very integral part of our lives since 2008, and will continue to do so. Before you judge too much based on preconceived notions of pageantry, let us give you a brief synopsis on the beauty of this program and what it is for so many young women. The world of spray tans, swimsuit competition, big hair and sparkles is also the world of education, arts, philanthropy, confidence and opportunity! Jamie’s personal Miss Alabama journey led her to never winning the crown (or even getting very close, for that matter!), but she won scholarship money that paid for a bachelor’s degree, room and board, meal plans, books AND a master’s degree. It would have been so hard to go to college without the Miss Alabama Program, and Jamie equates much of her life skills to the organization. It really has a way of helping shy and insecure little girls turn into confident and well-rounded women, so we will always strive to support the program in some way!
We recently took on the role of official photographers for the Miss Trussville Pageant, an official local preliminary for the Miss America Organization. A longtime friend of ours, Julie Meeks Coop, stepped up to the plate to serve as the Miss Trussville executive director so one more girl could get the opportunity to go to Miss Alabama (with an awesome director to support her, might we add). She did an awesome job putting the event together, and we can’t wait to tell you guys all about it. We will have a play-by-play to you soon full of on-stage competition shots, but until then, we wanted to share some photos we snapped of a few of the Miss Trussville 2015 contestants with you. Aren’t they STUNNING!?
