Katie & Daniel

Jamie and Katie went to high school together, and while it was a big school and they didn’t know each other super well, Jamie remembers high-school Katie as a sweet, thoughtful, beautiful person. Fast forward seven years (man, we’re getting old!), and Katie’s reputation still fits her to a T.

When we met with Katie for her first consultation, she brought us a beautiful piece of art that she made herself. If you’ve been following along, you might remember how we excitedly showed it off on Instagram, and since then, it has found its perfect spot in our guest room. As we were finishing up the consultation and saying our goodbyes, she held up her pointer finger to signal for us to wait. “I’ve got something for you!” We were so touched that she made such a conscious decision to gift us with something so awesome. In the middle of such a hectic part of her life, when she should be thinking about each item of her to-do list, she thought of us. We’ve learned through our time with her, that is just who she is.

People often ask us if we experience many “bridezillas” at the weddings we shoot. Nope. Not really. The brides that we work with are courteous and kind, and they marry equally amazing men. We grow to love them and admire them, and Katie and Daniel were certainly no different. During various parts of their day, we were left so moved. We will probably always remember Daniel’s face when he saw his bride walk down the aisle and how Katie lights up when she talks about her husband. Katie and Daniel’s first dance as husband and wife was so passionate and so intimate, which quickly reminded us of what saps we are. We watched these two hold each other tight as their eyes welled up with tears, and of course, the waterworks behind the camera soon followed.

Katie and Daniel, thank you so much for welcoming us into your family for the day. Thank you for dancing with us, laughing with us, and setting such a wonderful example of love.
