Kayla & Benj had one of the most romantic first looks we’ve ever been a part of. Benj looked at his bride with so much love that we thought his heart might burst, and then he pulled her in for the most beautiful kiss. It reminded us of one of our favorite movie quotes, “Since the invention of the kiss, there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind.” The Princess Bride, anyone?? (We also like the quote from the same movie, “Stop rhyming now, I mean it! Anyone want a peanut!?” But that one doesn’t quite fit this situation. 😉 )
During their first look and during their couples’ portraits, it was like they completely forgot that two photographers and two videographers were circling them. They were in their own world with each other, acknowledging that this was it. This was the day they had been praying for and waiting on for so many years. It was their wedding day, and they were looking at their forever love. And we got to stand beside them during this incredible day and document those memories for their children. Y’ALL.
For the rest of the day, we watched Kayla read her father a note as tears fell and we watched Benj gift his bride with a new bible with her new name. We saw the couple exchange vows and celebrate when the pastor pronounced them man and wife, and we were there as the graciously hugged and chatted with each and every friend and family member who came to witness such an amazing occasion! It truly was an amazing wedding day that we will never forget.
Kayla and Benj, thank you for trusting us with your memories and for making us feel like part of the family. You come from so much love, and we can only imagine the impact you’re going to make with your marriage. We can picture your children now – learning from you two what a marriage is supposed to look like and seeing your example on how a man loves a woman. You’re family tree is going to be so full of love because of the love that you guys share – it’s contagious! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for welcoming us with open arms. We’re honored we got to be a part of it all.
